Bormio, at the heart of the 2026 Winter Games for the men’s alpine skiing events
On the legendary Stelvio slope – considered one of the most technical and spectacular in the world – the five men’s alpine skiing events will take place: DownhillSuper-GSlalomGiant SlalomTeam Combined event
The Alpine skiing is one of the most popular and widely practiced winter sports worldwide. It has been an Olympic discipline since the 1936 Winter Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Legends such as Lasse Kjus, Hermann Maier, Andreas Schifferer, Hannes Trinkl, Fritz Stobl, Stephan Eberharter, Michael Walchhofer, Luc Alphand, Daron Rahlves, and Bode Miller have all triumphed on the Stelvio. Among the Italian victories, Christof Innerhofer stands out, along with the undisputed KING of the STELVIO, Dominik Paris. Also in Bormio, in 1995 exactly 20 years after Gustav Thoeni, Alberto Tomba cheered on by 40,000 passionate fans, won the overall World Cup as well as the Giant Slalom and Slalom titles. |
